A Sandown patio needed adjustable shade and shelter in a finish that wasn't stark white or charcoal.
An aluminium louvre awning in a dove-grey frame with white blades. Adjustable blades for sun and rain, integrated drainage, and a marine-grade build for the coastal corridor.
The dove-grey-and-white combination keeps the structure soft and modern, while the adjustable blades make the patio usable in any weather.
Sandown is part of the Blouberg coastal corridor, where wind off the sea and salt in the air come standard, so this awning was specified marine-grade from the outset. The colour call is what sets it apart: a dove-grey frame carrying white blades, which keeps the structure soft against the house while the ceiling stays bright underneath.
In practice the two tones do different jobs. The grey frame carries the visual weight of the structure and hides the everyday marks that pure white framing tends to show. The white blades bounce light down into the patio on overcast days and, with the drainage integrated into the system, close up into a tight ceiling when rain moves through the corridor.
