The build

The ceiling awning is a charcoal frame with white ceiling panels, with LED downlights recessed into the support beams rather than surface-mounted through the ceiling panels. The electrical circuit is concealed within the beam profile and wired back to a switch position on the house wall.

Mounting downlights in the support beams instead conceals them in a structural element that is already designed to carry load.
