A Goedemoed home wanted a clean, low-maintenance cover over the pool. It needed to be adjustable enough to open for sun and close when the weather turns, and finished to sit with the house rather than stand out.
An aluminium louvre roof finished in light grey, spanning the pool on slim aluminium posts. Manual rotating blades open for light and air, or angle and close to shed rain. Everything is built in marine-grade aluminium, so it never rusts or needs repainting.

Roofing over a pool is a different job to roofing a patio. There's no putting a post in the middle of the water, so the frame spans the pool with slim aluminium posts landing around its edges, and the structure has to carry that span without any support in between.
Light grey was the finish call, softer than charcoal against the house and less glare off it than white in full summer sun. The blades are manual: rotate them open and the pool gets its light, angle them closed and the poolside stays dry when a front comes through. Everything is marine-grade aluminium, which around pool chemicals and splash matters as much as it does at the coast.
